While driving back to LA from Tahoe a few months ago I stopped into the small town of Lone Pine, CA. I had a few shots left on a roll of film and while I was walking around town I stumbled upon a man outside and took a few portraits. We got to talking, he mentioned he made guitars, and brought me into his small studio and living space to show off his work. After talking briefly I got back in my car and drove home, the entire ride thinking about this man, his guitars, and his way of life. He has no phone or internet connection, so I wrote him a letter a few weeks later and put out the idea that I would like to come up and work on a short project about him. He got in touch with me, said he was happy to have me along, and I headed back up to Lone Pine to tell the story of David Lorah.
